Israel Delivered

The children of Israel become so great in number while they reside in Egypt that the Pharaoh begins taking initiative to curb their population growth. God raises up a deliverer for Israel named Moses who acts as God’s representative according to God’s Word. Through Moses, God demands the release of Israel from their bondage in Egypt to Pharaoh. Pharaoh refuses to release Israel, and God personally delivers them from their slavery by sending intense judgments upon Egypt, culminating in the death of all firstborn children in Egypt apart from those who resided in homes covered by the blood of the Passover Lamb. This Lamb anticipated the coming “Seed of the Woman” who will be struck by the Serpent, but also crush the Serpent, remove the curse of death, and restore rule to God. By creating a nation from the children of Israel and delivering them from the rule of foreign nations, God is beginning to fulfill His national promise to Abram.
